ADVISORY BOARD

Serving as the Senior International Officer & Associate Vice Provost for International Education at UMBC (University of Maryland, Baltimore County), Dr. David Di Maria oversees the Center for Global Engagement’s partnerships, programs and services and promotes the international dimensions of teaching, research and service by working collaboratively with administrators, faculty, staff, students and community leaders to create global engagement opportunities that align with UMBC’s mission, vision and strategic goals. Dr. Di Maria earned a doctorate from the University of Minnesota, where he studied internationalization from a P-16 perspective. His nearly 20 years of international education experience includes serving as the editor of two NAFSA books: Managing a Successful International Admissions Office: NAFSA’s Guide to International Admissions and Senior International Officers: Essential Roles and Responsibilities. He is also the sole author of a third NAFSA book, Achieving More with Less: Lean Management in the International Student Office.
