Recently, Terra Dotta signed its 300th client: The University of Texas at San Antonio. Since our founding in 2001, we have worked with some of the finest higher education institutions and businesses in the United States and around the world. On the signing, Executive Vice Provost and Senior International Officer at UTSA Julius Gribou wrote that "we are excited to be implementing Terra Dotta's capabilities for our study abroad and international outreach efforts. This dynamic software will help us to better market and manage study abroad programs, and to communicate UTSA's international outreach efforts."
When asked to comment on the milestone signing, company CEO and Co-Founder Brandon Lee said, "We are very pleased that The University of Texas at San Antonio has joined the Terra Dotta family. It has been our pleasure to serve all of our clients over the past 12 years. We look forward to working with UTSA and all of our clients, both current and future, in the years to come."

As in all areas of study abroad, the consistent factor is that no two programs, countries, or cities are alike. In the same way, no two faculty or staff members are alike. What are the minimum standards for a study abroad faculty member taking students abroad?
This is an easier question to answer when looking at course credit. Whether residing in the U.S. and traveling with students abroad or working with university faculty who live and work in the countries and cities where programs take place, there are minimum academic standards for students to obtain degree credit for the courses they take abroad. After students leave the classroom, things get more complicated when looking at faculty expertise.
As discussed in previous newsletters, implementing a study abroad program involves all aspects of university administrative and student affairs support in countries and cities all over the world.

Marty Greenham joined Terra Dotta as Director of Marketing in November 2011. For the past two years he has lead the company's marketing overhaul, introducing a new logo and company website.
Before joining Terra Dotta, Marty spent 28 years working for Semester at Sea in several different positions, including Marketing Director and National Director of University Outreach. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at Otterbein College and completed a marketing study program at the University of Southern California.
When he's not working, Marty enjoys traveling and hopes to vacation in Bali in the near future. A resident of northern California, he enjoys spending time with friends in wine country, going for bike rides, and attempting to play golf. While he doesn't consider himself a thrill-seeker, he wants to skydive in the next year.
Although it is a technology-driven company, Marty's favorite part of working for Terra Dotta is the people. He said that, "my colleagues are some of the smartest people I know and their fun-loving attitudes help make the job's challenges worthwhile."

User interfaces and displays can have their verbiage adjusted to better suit your site's specific user experience, but sometimes the change you want to make isn't just in the text of the interface. Just like using strategically placed HTML tags in the text interface fields can be used to adjust formatting of a field, JavaScript can be used in the text interface to adjust the content of your interfaces beyond just simple formatting.
