What a week! A sincere thank you to everyone who stopped by the Terra Dotta booth last week at NAFSA – whether to view a demonstration, enter one of our drawings, or just to say hello. We were so glad to see over 500 of our friends – both new and old – at our annual Karaoke Reception on Monday night. And we hope you were able to enjoy the presentation by the talented Up with People troupe, or one of our tasty hot pretzels.

Improvements to our SEVIS module, including live batching, as well as other enhancements coming in this summer’s TDS16 release, garnered positive feedback from current and prospective clients. If you were unable to stop by our booth in Denver, or were unable to attend the conference, please reach out to info@terradotta.com with any questions you might have for us.

Congratulations to the winners of our three drawings. Zhiwei Han from the University of Calgary won a new Microsoft Surface Pro 4. Amy Wright of California Baptist University and Jennifer Golden of Yeshiva University were each winners of one-year licenses to the NAFSA Adviser’s Manual 360.

Whether this was your first or 21st NAFSA Annual Conference, we hope you returned home inspired and challenged. As you manage your return to your normal work environment, take a moment to read the next article for some tips and considerations. We look forward to seeing you this fall at the NAFSA regional conferences.

The NAFSA Annual Conference. A meeting of 10,000 of your closest friends. Or as Brooke Roberts of Inside Study Abroad recently called it, “the juggernaut of all professional conferences.” If you recently returned from the Denver conference, or if you have attended any NAFSA Annual Conference, you probably understand. Now that you are home, your next steps will determine if your attendance will make a difference for your institution, or if you simply enjoyed a week of reception hopping.

How does Terra Dotta mysteriously "know" who your campus applicants are when they log in? What is the process by which these users are identified and what can you do about it if this process breaks down? Come to this session to learn about authentications, the "secret" process whereby TDS determines who a campus user is when they log in and allows them access to clients. This session is meant for intermediate and experienced TDS users, whether or not they have a background in IT.

Are you overwhelmed with maintaining hundreds of provider programs? Help is here in the form of the Study Abroad Directory. With the directory, you no longer have to create brochures, scour the provider website for locations and dates, or endlessly check for program changes. This session will focus on how to get started using the Directory with special emphasis on creating mappings, importing program information, and installing updates.

Terra Dotta is excited to announce the signing of our 500th client, Colorado School of Mines, who purchased for both their study abroad and ISSS offices.

We are very pleased with the commitment all clients have made to us over the years. User feedback has led to improved features and the launch of our SEVIS module.

Software enhancements will continue in our TDS16 release in July - responsive design, submit application button, and embedded RTI browser in the SEVIS module.

We look forward to continuing work with all our clients and hope to see you all in person, whether at one of our conference events, our Boot Camp workshops, or the myriad of events we attend each year.

After the success of our inaugural Boot Camp workshop in Louisville, Terra Dotta will host additional Boot Camps in New Orleans in connection with the NAFSA Bi-Regional (III & VII).

Mark your calendar now for November 10-11.

These 1.5 day workshops are designed to help new staff, implementing clients, or individuals looking to break into the field of international education gain an understanding of Terra Dotta software (TDS). You receive access to your own Terra Dotta software site for 30 days to practice and train during and after completion of Boot Camp.
