With every passing week, excitement continues to build for this year’s Terra Dotta user conference. TDU Global 2019 promises to offer something for everyone working within a Terra Dotta solution. Our venue, the inspiring Emory Conference Center Hotel in Atlanta, is set within a forest preserve, providing an atmosphere conducive to learning, collaborating and networking. So finish up your taxes before the April 15 deadline and join us! The conference will start off with half-day workshops enabling both new and advanced users in study abroad and ISSS to gain intensive training in their respective topics. The next day we will dive right in with sessions led by your Terra Dotta and university colleagues. Sessions will be along one of three tracks – Study Abroad, ISSS and Travel/Risk. Interested in knowing the sessions? The full session schedule is available for your online viewing. TDU Global also provides the opportunity to preview what the Terra Dotta team has been doing to enhance the user experience. This year's conference will highlight an improved study abroad applicant experience. Incorporating client feedback and evolving web-design best practices, the new applicant experience focuses on providing an intuitive workflow to ensure applicants have the right information at key steps to drive the completion of the application process. This year we are very pleased to welcome a growing number of partners and sponsors. Since its initiation last year, our partner ecosystem has quickly grown to five partners with more in the works. In Atlanta, both StudentUniverse and English3 representatives will be in attendance and available to speak with attendees. Two additional sponsors – AIFS and CISI – will also be present to discuss the ways in which they can assist you with your internationalization goals. New this year is our first “competition,” the TDU Global Innovation Award. This award has been established to recognize the creativity and ingenuity of our client users. If your office – or an office that you would like to nominate - has done something innovative in Terra Dotta software, there is still time to submit a nomination. The deadline is Friday, March 1. For more information on the Innovation Award (eligibility, criteria, judging, etc.) review the article in last month’s PORTAL newsletter. Finally, we get that your office must make difficult decisions regarding the conferences it attends. Few, if any of us, have unlimited budgets that allow all the meetings that interest us. Last year, to assist you with your decision, we published the “10 Reasons Why You Need to Attend TDU Global 2018.” A year later, the reasons are still valid. We hope the combination of this article, along with a strong 2019 program, will convince you that TDU Global 2019 is a conference you will attend this April. Register now so you don’t miss out! |

In March 2018, Kristina Gutierrez joined Terra Dotta as our Human Resources Manager. Her daily responsibilities entail assisting with all issues related to the people of our organization: talent management, maintaining records and reports, benefits administration, employee relations, workplace conduct, staying current on industry trends, performance management, regulatory compliance and more. In everything she does, her main objective is to make the best decisions for the company while being an advocate for the employees. Before joining Terra Dotta, Kristina worked in a handful of different industries and positions that gave her exposure to how a business operates and the impact employees have on a company. Some of these positions included a Client Relations Manager for a luxury auto dealer, an Executive Assistant and Property Manager for a financial institution, and Human Resources at one of the "Big Four" accounting firms. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from West Virginia University and a Master of Arts in Human Resources Management. Outside of work, Kristina enjoys coaching children's soccer, and dog walking for residents in her local community. Passionate about mammals, Kristina hopes to travel to eco-adventure spots such as Manitoba, Canada, to hang out with the polar bears, the Serengeti in Tanzania to see the migrations of wild animals, Australia to spend time with the animals of the Outback, and Borneo Island to visit with the orangutans. Kristina says her favorite part of working at Terra Dotta is “working with an amazing group of employees who have a passion for the mission and take pride ensuring our clients are happy with Terra Dotta's products. Our employees love what they do and I have really enjoyed seeing them grow and develop professionally over the course of the year." |

English3 and Terra Dotta have partnered to seamlessly integrate the E3J1 English Interview for exchange visitors and the E3PT (English3 Proficiency Test) for international students. The E3J1 Interview was built with universities, for universities, and is the only English assessment created specifically for J-1 exchange visitors. International student and scholar offices choose the E3J1 Interview because it simplifies the administrative process for verifying English proficiency, while ensuring compliance with State Department requirements. International offices, sponsoring departments, and applicants each enjoy a streamlined experience, at no cost to the university. 8 out of 10 exchange visitors surveyed prefer the E3J1 over other methods of verifying their English proficiency. The E3PT is an comprehensive, accurate, and secure online English assessment for use in international admissions. The E3PT is more affordable and can be taken anytime and anywhere, helping institutions attract a more diverse pool of applicants. “Partnering with TD was an easy decision because of our shared focus on improving the international student and scholar experience. This partnership is a meaningful step forward, creating a more streamlined and efficient process for applicants and institutions.” - Moroni Flake, Chief Operating Officer See explanatory videos of the E3J1 and the E3PT. For more information, contact Terra Dotta's Manager of Strategic Partnerships, Robert Davis. English3 will also be available at TDU Global 2019 and the NAFSA Annual Conference. |
